The research on a specific group of US Navy (US Submarine Men) who died
during WWII has be ongoing for some time. See
http://www.subvetpaul.com/Diedwwii.htm

The uncomfortable discovery that hundreds of men's records are not available
to interested researchers without Hugh sums of money was depressing to this
old WWII veteran.

Dependence on members in the genealogical community to supply missing data on
some records has yielded a limited number of positive results. However, there
are still many hundreds of records of "Men who have died twice" without dates
and places of birth.

To find another interested researcher or organization, who is willing to aid
in acquiring and / or confirming missing data in the existing published work
would be great. The only payment would be a credit line in future editions.
