[Genealib] Searching for records of men who died twice.

I am new to this site but have been watching the different emails. The HIGH COST of requested documents prevents many genealogists from retrieving these records. I believe the process of filing is pretty direct, but it is definitely the high cost. I would think that our government would welcome requests and honor our nation by making these documents more cost effective.
Thank you, Donna Johnson

Not having anyone in this category, I did not realize this. Perhaps a way around the high cost - for this specific cause - could be found. U.S. Representatives & Senators --- for whatever in the heck they're worth these days! --- could be a start along with requests from such large groups as the National Genealogical Society, the Federation of Genealogical Societies, etc. And is someone like NGS would take on the project of providing a data base ... ?
I'm not a member at this time of NGS, but hopefully someone on this list is and can pursue it.
I'm on the Board of Directors for NGS and I can follow up but I'm not sure that I understand what you're suggesting. Are you talking about finding a way to more efficiently file/process FOA requests ... to collect the information on WWII soldiers in a different way...or something else?
