Hello,
Often I buy CD ROM's because that's the only format
I can get the information in. This year we purchased
the GenLine Swedish database which is easier to
navigate if you first get your home parish information
from two CD's - Embias and the Swedish Emigrant. I am
also about to order several Irish CD's from Eneclann
Press.
In fact, this week I have been slowly loading our
over 500 CD's from our old Windows 98 computer which
used a caddy drive to our new PC. I thought I would
have to pitch some of the old Family Tree Makers but
so far they are all working. We have limited our CD
access to only one of our three PC's. since they are
not as popular as they used to be.
I am also lucky to have a full time city MIS person
assigned to the library who is very accommodating to
the needs of genealogists.
