[Genealib] Why do you rearrange your collection?

Here goes.
Our cataloger invented this several years ago. I don't recommend this,
though there is a bit of sadistic fun in watching non-genealogists
wander around in increasing bewilderment.
We have 7 shelving sequences. They are: State documents (DOC), IND
(regular Indiana history and everything that doesn't belong elsewhere),
GEN (genealogy, other countries and states, surname books), AUT (books
by Indiana authors), MAD (books about Madison County, where we're
located), CH (County histories for the other 91 Indiana counties), CI
(Census indexes) Within each division, the books are shelved in DDC
order.
We also "mess" with Dewey a little. Instead of giving the Indiana
Counties the standard DDC numbers (which group them geographically), we
have them arranged in alphabetical order with commensurate numbers.
The whole thing is appalling, but it does work.
