And, you want people to be able to function in other libraries they'll be
researching. Someone who I teach Dewey to here will be able to hopefully go
to your facility and have a better general understanding of how things are
laid out and why.

I will tell you why I don't rearrange into another order. Because the my
co-workers, who seem to have a mental block as soon as patron mentions a
genealogy related term, would never be able to help the patron when I'm not
around.

Subject: [Genealib] Why do you rearrange your collection?
Hello,
I would like to rearrange our genealogy collection. We have it in normal
dewey call number order. Nothing is pulled out into separate areas. We are
going to move the collection to a bigger area. When we do I would like to
have the collection rearranged. I know that most of the genealogy
collections out there are rearranged in some way. I don't want to know how
because we've discussed that recently. I want to know why.
Thanks for any help,
Cheryl Smith
