[Genealib] DESERT ISLAND GENEALOGY BOOKS

I am teaching a course on "Genealogy for Librarians" at the University of
British Columbia this fall.  I am compiling a "Basic Bookshelf" list and
would like to include a representative range of basic titles.

North of the border here, I don't get a lot of U.S. genealogy questions
(it's by far mainly Canada and British Isles), so I am curious about what
would be considered two or three core titles on U.S. genealogy for a basic
genealogy collection.  The ones I have in mind so far are the "Handybook
for genealogists" and "The source: a guide book of American genealogy".
