Maria,
We also have many patrons who tell me that they can't get into Heritage Quest from home although I can access it from my home just fine. When we investigate we usually find that the problem lies with patron's security software or sometimes something as simple as a pop up blocker will keep someone out of a database (you have to allow pop-ups for that site). We have the following "help" note on our database access page:
home users with Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall will need to configure their workstations to pass referrer information to specific web pages. More information is available from Symantec's Knowledge Base at http://www.symantec.com/search/ Type 'referring information' in the search box and click on 'knowledge base' to limit your search.
But the WYLD (Wyoming Libraries Database) technote below explains it better:

Good luck,
Elaine Hayes

Our county library system has Heritage Quest for our library patrons to
access from home. I have received several complaints that it does not work
from the patorn's home computers--including mine!
Has anyone had this problem and know how to solve it?
