[Genealib] General Collection for Small Public Library

We serve a population around 5,000 in the City, around 11,000 in the
County. We have a bookshelf of genealogy resources, local newspapers on
microfilm, and then subscriptions to Ancestry and Heritage Quest. The
database subs are in part funded by local business institutions as a
public service.

Almost all of our genealogy related activities are related to looking up
and sending obits from Perry, OK and Noble County, OK newspapers.

I would recommend at a minimum that you keep on hand the stock gen
reference texts, basic database subscriptions, and then other things as
you can accumulate them. This list, for example, has been a great way to
help strengthen our smaller gen collection by the generousity of other
institutions sending us duplicates.
