MessageI agree, its a good set...especially for regimental research. For
genealogy I'd get the discs, because most people doing genealogy work would
like a searchable feature.

Our in-house Civil War historian and author, Terry Lowry, says this set is
good and is considered one of the "classics" for Civil War history. We have
the original 12 hardbound volumes in our collection, but they are not used
heavily. If you have true Civil War historians and buffs who truly research
the Civil War, you will probably want this set for your library. If you
don't expect much use, the CD-ROM version would probably be adequate. There
are used sets and individual volumes widely available in the book market,
from what I can see. This set has been reprinted several times over the
years.
