You can view some of the finding aids of the Baeck Institute, located at the Center for Jewish History in Manhattan, through http://www.cjh.org/nhprc/LeoBaeck.html . Click the plus sign to the left of the collection title, and then click RESEARCH GUIDE, highlighted in blue.
The New York State Archives web page at http://iarchives.nysed.gov/RNYHC/r_findorg_resultsServlet?idContains=1 provides links to finding aids of varying length and detail on other websites. Several of the links I tried are broken, but many aren't.

Dear List,
Does anyone have experience creating traditional archival finding aids
(biographical note, scope and contents of collection, series descriptions,
sub-series, etc) for genealogical manuscripts? I know I've heard of them,
but I can't seem to find one online that I can view as a sample. Thanks!
