I might suggest a search in WorldCat and in NUCMC might show that the
reformatory records are now in university or historical society hands
because some thoughtful employee decided to preserve the records when
administration directed that they be tossed out.

even the barest outline of the past is forgotten, unless it is recorded

Librarians can do or find just about anything.
Does anyone have knowledge as to where the old records of inmates
Cheshire Boys Reformatory during 1910-1915 might be stored? During the
modernization the current staff has no idea what became of the records.
