Anyone actually signed up for this site? A patron wanted us to, so I tried
some tests on the site and got for my own surname:
Birth, Marriage and Death Records (28)
2 TX Texas Divorces 1968 - 2001
12 TX Texas Marriages 1968 - 2003
14 USA Social Security Death Index;
for my mother's surname I got:
2 USA 1880 United States Census (First Installment)
Birth, Marriage and Death Records (37)
1 TX Texas Marriages 1968 - 2003
36 USA Social Security Death Index
Newspapers (2)
1 CA Feather River Bulletin (Quincy, California)
1 KS Osage County Chronicle (Burlingame, Kansas)
It would seem to me, knowing the families, that I should have gotten WAY
more for the 1880 census. Is there a compelling reason to pay to access the
SSDI? The small town newspaper seemed like a nice tough because they can
contain good family information, but when I clicked to look at them, there
was no highlighting of the name being searched. Worse, the papers were
slanted over towards the margin (gutter) where they were folder and the test
disappeared.
Anyone else working with this?
