If you've ever been asked about patent searching for genealogical
purposes - it just got quite a bit easier. I'm in love ... And I've
only done one 5 minute search for my grandfather.

Google has been purchasing bulk data from USPTO and created a pretty
nice interface. Looks like the drawbacks currently are page by page
printing, the lack of patent applications, and imperfect OCR scans (but
doesn't everyone have that problem?).
Not bad for Beta though.
