The Georgia Genealogical Society usually pays professional and
nationally known speakers $200 per lecture which are usually an hour or
so. They usually give 4 lectures in the day they are here. We cover
the hotel and airfare, but they have to make the flight arrangements way
in advance. We make the copies of the handouts to help control those
costs. Our program meetings are 4 times a year and for 2 of those we
bring in such speakers. We usually pay non-professional local (meaning
Georgia) speakers $50 per lecture.

For the December meeting, which is elections and annual meeting, we have
had the last few years a local professional who does one program for
about an hour and that rate has been $200.
