[Genealib] Genealogy Research Classes

I'm a DAR member and I do this type of class twice a year as part of a
library lock-in program. I always have quite a few people who are
interested, including men who want to join SAR.

DAR is now conducting a special class for its members whose graduates
are called "Genealogy Consultants." The purpose is to train members who
are available to teach classes and coach ladies through the application
process. I took the class this past summer and love having the
opportunity to share what I learned.

Do check with your local DAR chapter(s). I'll be surprised if you don't
find someone in your area who would be delighted to help.

You might want to ask your local DAR (Daughters of the American
Revolution) if they or a state person would do a day long workshop on
proving your lineage. They have handouts and really want to show folks
what counts as "proof", how to fill in the forms corerctly, etc....It's
part of the Lineage Research Committee- there might not be a local
person but there will be a state person.
