You might want to ask your local DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) if they or a state person would do a day long workshop on proving your lineage. They have handouts and really want to show folks what counts as "proof", how to fill in the forms corerctly, etc....It's part of the Lineage Research Committee- there might not be a local person but there will be a state person.
