The book is a comprehensive list of data collected from the Emigrant Savings Bank ledgers 
that identify account holders during July 1852-July 1854. 5,000 depositors are listed, 
along with their over 10,000 known relatives.Included are the depositor's nativity, ports 
of departure and entry, ship and date of arrival, occupation (some with address of 
employment), place of residence, and an index of all names for easy reference.

Also included are sample pages of the bank's original ledgers, photographs of the bank's 
staff, and a period map of lower Manhattan. The book covers accounts 2501-7500 and has 400 
pages.
