Access to medical records etc.

This thread has been going a number of days now.  It is important to remember that laws vary from state to state.  

Depending upon the state laws access to medical records and  adoptions will  vary.  In some states access may be granted by a judge.  The death date of the individual and the years since death may not be a factor in access to the record.

Researchers need to understand the laws of the state in which the research is being done.
